Enamel.

The practice

Two dentists, one hygienist, and appointments long enough to do the work.

Enamel Studio opened in 2016 with a deliberately small list. Everything about how it runs — the fee model, the appointment lengths, the fact that a cosmetic design is trialled in your mouth before anything is prepared — follows from that one decision.

Why it exists

It started as a reaction to forty-minute appointments.

Dr Nadia Brant spent eight years in a large group practice before opening this one. The clinical work there was competent. What was not possible was time: a schedule built to hit a production target does not accommodate a two-hour preparation appointment, and it certainly does not accommodate a patient coming back a week later to say they would like the trial smile a millimetre shorter.

So the model here is the opposite. Fewer patients, longer appointments, out of network on purpose. A consultation is ninety minutes because a full periodontal chart, a set of photographs and an actual conversation take ninety minutes. A veneer case has a design phase before it has a preparation appointment, and you wear the design out of the building before we commit to it.

What we will not do

We will not prepare teeth for veneers on a mouth with untreated periodontal disease, no matter how much someone wants it done before an event. We will not fit implants for a heavy smoker who has not agreed to stop for the healing period. We will not quote a treatment over the phone. And we will not use the words painless or permanent, because neither is true and using them is how consent stops being informed.

What we will do

Tell you when the cheaper option is the right one. Show you what an alternative looks like before you agree to the expensive version. Put the fee in writing, itemised, before you are asked to decide anything. And refer you out when a specialist will do it better — deep periodontal cases to a periodontist, complex orthodontics to an orthodontist, IV sedation to a dentist anaesthetist.

Four of us. That is the whole list.

Where our patients come from

Scottsdale and the north valley.

Most of the list is within twenty minutes: Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, North Phoenix, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills, Carefree. A cosmetic case means five or six visits over a couple of months, so being able to get here at eight in the morning and still make a meeting matters more than it sounds.

Covered garage parking on level two, validated for the length of your appointment. The lift opens onto our floor.
